25.01.10 | Austrian Airlines Cancel Flights to Yekaterinburg
• Last flight to depart at end of March • Five destinations in Russia to continue operating
Austrian Airlines is to cancel its flights to Yekaterinburg in Russia from the end of the winter schedule. The final flight from Vienna to Yekaterinburg will depart on 26 March 2010, while the final flight from Yekaterinburg to Vienna will depart on 27 March 2010.
Austrian Airlines incorporated the destination into its schedule in April 2006. The reason for the cancellation is that the route was no longer economical.
Strategic partner of Austiran Airlines – Lufthansa German Airlines, represented in Ural Region by Key Account Manager Julia Solovieva, will continue to provide qualified assistance to our partners and corporate clients.
Austrian Airlines will continue to operate flights to the following five cities in Russia, however: Moscow, Krasnodar, Rostov, Sochi and St. Petersburg. We will operate 43 flights a week to Russia in the summer schedule in total, rising to 52 a week when taken together with the partner carriers Transaero and Rossiya-Russian Airlines.
